Mavis McCarthy
Senior Associate
Mavis specialises in policy analysis and institutional reform. Based in Ghana, she has deep experience of aid management and coordination and programme management, monitoring & evaluation. She is a specialist in organizational development, for both systems and procedures.
She has reviewed aid management and coordination arrangements throughout West Africa, most recently in relation Aid Effectiveness Commitments as set out in the Paris Declaration and the Accra Agenda for Action. Her incisive analysis has contributed to the development Liberia as input to development of strategies for aid delivery, as private sector development programmes, notably in Liberia and Ghana.
Mavis recently worked with the Global Health Initiative of the Woodrow Wilson Centre for International Scholars to study the relationship between the sector Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in Ghana with regards to prioritization and allocation of resources. Previously she worked with the International Finance Corporation, promoting the development and growth of enterprises in Ghana and Nigeria. Mavis holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with First Class Honours, from the University of Ghana.
