Climate Change
Time for action
The implications of climate change for sustainable development are now recognised. The Stern Review warned that climate change could have an impact on the world economy equivalent to a 5 to 20% drop in global consumption. Latest research from the Tyndall Centre, superceding the IPCC 4AR is even more worrying. The poorest countries will be hardest hit. For those that fail to adapt, achieving the MDGs could become a distant prospect.
Agulhas provided a core team member to the Stern Review, and is advising intergovernmental organisations, donors and companies on the implications of climate change including on policy, programme, advocacy, pricing and fundraising issues. We work with the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership on climate change. We are advising clients on, for example, adaptation challenges in developing countries, mitigation responses in the UK and the range of options available to them in responding to climate change.
