Climate Change
Time for action

Climate change is a threat multiplier and risk accelerator for all of us now. The Stern Review warned that climate change could have an impact on the world economy equivalent to a 5 to 20% drop in global consumption. Latest research from the Tyndall Centre, superceding the IPCC 4AR is even more worrying. We daily see the evidence from flooding, droughts and other extreme events in East Africa, Pakistan, Mexico and Thailand. In the last year events in Russia, Australia and the US have brought the issue closer to home for OECD countries. This is not a distant prospect happening somewhere else.

Agulhas provided a Director as a  core team member on the Stern Review. We now advise intergovernmental organisations, donors and companies on the implications of climate change including on policy, programme, advocacy, supply chain, pricing and fundraising issues.  We work with the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership on climate change, including Chairing their Climate Leadership Programme.  We are advising clients on, for example, improving climate resilience in the supply chain, repositioning their core offering to support demand from clients in this space and adaptation challenges in developing countries. We also work with the DAC/OECD and the multilateral development banks on the challenge of improving climate finance flows to developing countries.
